The Poetry Reader - teach the youth!

In our new quest to give poetry a more prominent place in the school system, one thing was missing: a poetry reader. For us, only one next step qualified a logical… to create a Poetry Reader. We’re focussing on the next group of marvellous leaders, also known as ‘the youth’. The reader will introduce them to icons and connect them with contemporary artists. Our next event is March 20th and €1 of every ticket goes to the development of this written introduction to the world of words. So for €7,50 (€6 with the e-fyer) you’ll get 10 powerful poets, 2 rockin’ DJ’s, the flyest host and you’re part of a movement. Who said you can only spend your euros once..?

RE:Defintion #1

We did it! And when I say 'we' I mean everybody who came through with nothing but good vibes and extra smiles for rainy days. This is ours, we worked hard, started out fresh and from this day forward we'll rock it like Hendrix!

The first RE:Definition was supposed to take place in the upstairs theatre that can hold a maximum of 50 people but it’s a good thing we moved to the lobby at the last minute. There would have been a massive invasion of private spaces because you came in numbers. Numbers that would have had you sharing auras if we stayed up there.

Thanks for the great turn up people!!! Our camera died before the first poet thanked the audience for their attention but hopefully we can track down some impressions of the great vibes that evening.

Workshop

What do you know... 12.00h is early! Especially if it's freezing outside and you hardly defrosted from the night before. Rutger and Biko hit us with the warmest welcome and after we sprinkled some coffee over our milk and sugar, life as we know it was great again. Nothing but blessings and crispy cookies for the Nowhere crew who made this workshop possible!

Shout outs to those who made it to the workshopand a big up to U.N.O.M. who held his own in a room filled with estrogen!

Important info about Christa Bell's workshop

Christa's workshop starts at 12.00h instead of 15.00h! We could say something about an early bird and a worm but then we realised an important thing... 12 o'clock isn't really that early.

Workshop venu: Nowhere
Address: Madurastraat 90, 1094 GS Amsterdam
Time: 12.00h until 15.00h
Costs: It's free for Nowhere-members and RE:Definition-visitors. Otherwise it's €6.

Sign up by sending an e-mail with your name and number to redefine09@gmail.com.

RE:Definition salutes: Club Ambras

O-BA-MA!!! Tuesday January 20th... what can we say other than that we're sad weren't there to do the electric slide on the White House lawn. Luckily a group of creative souls got together and created what qualifies as 'Washington away from... well, Washington'.

We congratulate Club Ambras with their event to a new era.

RE:Definition - Friday January 30th @ Rozentheater (Amsterdam)

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life...

The 3rd edition of Indigo's Moodboard kicked off the first month of the new year and here we are ready to wrap things up with our Poetic Ladies' Night. We found our new home in the Rozentheater which literally means 'Theater of Roses'. Sounds like the perfect place for a beautiful union of flower pedals and thorns, doesn't it?

Tickets are €7,50 but if you bring a copy or a drawing (make it fly tho'...) of this e-flyer, you'll get in for €6. Yes, folks... it's discount time. Why? Because it's always somebody's birthday and you know you mourn the death of the euro...
